Molecular model anniversary gifts

Years ago, for my parent's diamond wedding anniversary, I made up a crystal structure model of a diamond for them. It was constructed using transparent acrylic balls in an octahedral shape, mounted it on a hardwood base and added a commemorative plaque marking the date and the event. It still adorns their front window, and it still starts conversations. At their celebration, it formed the focus of my speech - Diamond; robust, long-lasting, beautiful and reflecting the light around them. Just like their relationship.

Because many of the traditional anniversary gift themes comprise metals or minerals, we can make beautiful molecular or crystal structure models of them and, as with the diamond, it is possible to draw parallels between the properties of the mineral or metal represented in the gift and the marriage that is being celebrated. Tin - understated but very protective; Steel - strong and the core of many magnificent buildings. You get the idea.

Below is a list of the traditional items that represent each anniversary for which we can build models - there are other anniversaries for which we can make up models, but these are those for which exactly match the traditional gifts. We can make up models of cellulose for paper, Kaolinite for china clay, and a host of other materials that bear a somewhat more oblique relation to the traditional gifts

We can mount the models on any type of base, and include a commemorative plaque, or any other feature you might want.
